Successful transportation workshop held in Toronto

In June, LCERPA hosted international experts in Transportation for a research workshop on the topic of Canada's 'Gateways and Corridors'. The event welcomed acadmic researchers, industry practitioners and government agencies to discuss issues ranging from infrastructure investments and trade flows to environmental impacts and public private partnerships. LCERPA launches a quarterly labour market bulletin

WATERLOO - The Laurier Centre for Economic Re-search and Policy Analysis (LCERPA) today announced the launch of Labour Market News, a first in a quarterly series of bulletins designed to provide expert economic viewpoints of labour market trends and policy issues.The first issue will focus on retirement trends with subsequent issues covering topics such as summer employment, minimum wages, and possibly changes to unionization rates in Canada.

"We have a very talented pool of economic faculty within LCERPA," said Dr. Bill Morrison, director of the research centre and professor of Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. "The newsletter will provide insights into the latest labour market data as well as highlight important issues in a way that is accessible for non-academics"
